Our Mission
Our mission is to advance the understanding and conservation of marine ecosystems, with a special focus on sharks, through rigorous scientific research and innovative methodologies. By studying the behaviors, interactions, and environmental influences on shark populations in Fuvahmulah, we aim to uncover the intricate dynamics that sustain marine biodiversity. We are committed to fostering a sustainable future where scientific insight guides shark conservation efforts, ensuring the protection of these vital oceanic inhabitants and their habitats. Through collaboration, education, and cutting-edge research, we strive to inspire global stewardship of our precious marine environments, with sharks at the forefront of our efforts.

Our Journey

Our journey began in 2017 with a vision to understand and protect the tiger sharks of Fuvahmulah. Officially launching our research efforts in 2021 with a pioneering Tiger Shark Photo ID project, our work has since expanded into eight diverse and impactful projects. From investigating environmental influences and social behaviors of tiger sharks to studying the intricate interactions of silvertip sharks and documenting the aggressive nature of titan triggerfish, our research has grown in scope and significance.
Our dedicated team of marine biologists and researchers brings a wealth of expertise and passion to each project. We provide comprehensive marine conservation services, including in-depth ecological assessments, behavioral studies, and advanced monitoring techniques using state-of-the-art technology like underwater ultrasounds and Baited Remote Underwater Video systems (BRUVs).

Our story is one of relentless curiosity and commitment to marine conservation. The idea for our organization stemmed from a deep appreciation for the ocean's wonders and a desire to protect its inhabitants. What sets us apart is our holistic approach, combining innovative research methodologies with a collaborative spirit that engages local communities and global partners.
We stand out by not only advancing scientific knowledge but also by inspiring a broader understanding and appreciation for sharks and their critical role in marine ecosystems. Join us on this exciting journey as we continue to explore, understand, and protect the ocean's most fascinating predators, ensuring a healthier future for our planet's marine environments.
