About
Roughly once a year we open up three internship opportunities through our thresher shark program. Our thresher project yields a vast amount of data which sometimes requires assistance to go through! These internships typically include assisting our in field lead biologist with camera deployments/ retrievals, underwater equipment maintenance, reviewing of Remote Underwater Video (RUV) footage, logging thresher & other megafauna encounters, analysing thresher occurrences in fine detail and processing environmental data. Additionally, excluding thresher related activities the inter will be expected to help with photo ID's on our daily tiger dives, assist with measuring tiger sharks and generally helping with any other project we have going on at the time. These internships are aimed at recent graduates who want to pursue a career in marine science, not someone who wants to do some cool diving and volunteering. You will be learning advanced in field techniques to help aid your career as a young marine scientist trying to climb the ladder in this extremely competitive industry. For dates - Internship opportunities will be updated mostly via our instagram pages: @Fuvahmulahthresherproject & @Fuvahmulahdiveschool
